Mix once. Pour all day. Making your cocktails in batches means no more going to and from the kitchen all day. Because playing bartender shouldn’t feel like work.

This wintry twist on an Old Fashioned cocktail comes from Swift, just a stone’s throw away from our offices in Southwark, London. It takes the core ingredients of the whisky cocktail and adds a nutty, Christmassy twist with almond and hazelnut liqueurs.

If you’re hosting a large group at Christmas, mix this in a large batch to save you going back and forth from the kitchen all day. Be sure you have plenty of ice in your freezer (see our Flow™ Easy-fill Ice-cube Tray), and the rest is merely a matter of stirring.

Ingredients
  • Step 1Combine all the ingredients in a bottle, and store in the freezer.
  • Step 2To serve, pour into a lowball glass over ice, stir and enjoy!

“This is super easy to batch, stick in the freezer, and then all you need to do is pour, stir and enjoy.”

- Connor, Swift bartender

The finishing touch

This cocktail can be garnished in multiple ways, to suit your guests tastes. Below are three suggestions to try:

  • Nutmeg garnish

Use a fine grater such as Nest™ Slice & Zest 2-in-1 Grater and Mandoline Set to grate fresh nutmeg on top of the drink, allowing it to gather on the ice cube.

  • Orange garnish

Use a Switch™ 2-in-1 Peeler to slice off a strip of orange skin – don’t peel too strongly so as to avoid picking up pith. Neaten up the edges with a sharp knife, then shape the spiral by wrapping the strip tightly around a chopstick or pencil for a couple of minutes until it takes on a curl.

  • Cherry garnish

Line up three maraschino cherries from a jar on a cocktail stick and rest on top of the glass.
